security

Hi

due to a bug ( http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1546639&forum_id=369628 ) there is a security threat in TSEP. Since there are more then 1 file containing the problem please protect your include and admin directory with .htaccess!
( Same as we describe in the documentation:
http://www.tsep.info/tsep-latest/docs/install.php#security )

TSEP on SVN available

Hi

we are gathering a new team.
In the path of this we have used the chance we got from Sourceforge to publish the latest code version(s) von the SVN. SVN is a successor of CVS as we see it.
Please feel free to download from there the very latest - not stable (!) - code version. (Absolutely no support if you use the SVN!)

0942 finally release

Hi

We promised to release 0942 today - and we want to keep the promise.
We have made many bug fixes but also added very many useful features - and proudly we say: Some are not seen in ANY other search engine that we know: ContentImages.
Automatic creation and uploading of screenshots of your website which then can be shown with the results. (Experimental, but as feature available!)

Further there is automatic and site individual creation of stopwords!... read more

new version 0942 on it's way

Hi

we are trying hard to release our new version in the end of August or the very early beginning of September.
There have been quite some improvements and I hope the wait was worth it.
We have created a setup, the possibility to create images of your pages and display them in the results, removed several bugs, e.g. the UTF-8-wrong-character-display bug...

Please stay tuned
Olaf for the TSEP team

we moved: tsep.info

Hi

we have aquired the domain name tsep.info where our website will be from now on waiting for you.
Further more we have added a newsletter feature on our website where you can easily sign up to and sign out from again.
We will use this feature toi announce news (similar to these news here) but further more we might send information about upcomming releases, development status, tips and tricks concerning TSEP as well as offer pre-public versions to the subscribers - let's name them alpha and beta versions.
Since you have just read that we will offer beta version in advance to subscribers: We are on our way to remove the beta status from TSEP!
We are working on an installer (setup) which will really keep all settings: logs and stopwords, but your index as well!... read more

0942 is finally there

Hi

you might have seen that we release 0942.
This version should fix UTF8 bugs, brings a completely new log statistics page and improvements to the logview. Now IP addresses are also resolved and the admin can filter the output.

still working on UTF8 bug

Hi

as I mentioned before: We have solved one bug which we introduced when TSEP switched to UTF-8 character encoding in version 0940. But we were not aware until a few days ago, that MySQL seems to have a bug here to. Be sure, UTF-8 gives us the creeps and we really hope that our idea how we can work around this (wrong) MySQL behaviour will work.
As I have promised, you will get the new version as soon as possible.... read more

0940: UTF-8 problem -> use 0939

Hi

we have tracked a UTF-8 problem down. As you might have noticed we have changed the encoding of pages from version 0939 to 0940 from ISO to UTF-8 encoding.
Because of this change we encountered a couple of bugs which all relate to this change.
For now my advise is, if you need "special" characters like or on your websites (non english characters) please download version 0939 and try this version first.
If you are having problems with 0939, for example you can not index pages or after pages have been indexed the index is still empty, try version 0940, but please be aware, that we are still working on the special characters in the UTF-8 "environment".... read more

bugs in 0940 - working on it

Hi
we have noticed 2 bugs in the 0940 version and we are working on it.

1: language.php contaings $tsep_lng = array(); (which is wrong)

For one bug you could help yourself for now. This bug is about the language.php file if you are not using the english language.php. Open the file, look for
$tsep_lng = array();
delete this line! Save the file.(upload again of course)
This should do the trick. Now the fields in configuration, indexer etc. should have at least the english description!... read more
