I suggest the following feature

A facility for labelling torrent as possible in utorrent, it comes handy for organizzing torrents inside trqt listing.

Basically the second drop down menu is useless since now a days more torrents contain more than one tracker anyway.

Please refer if possible also fedora 17's Gtk transmission where the drop down menu shows three types of info that can be filtered like whether torrent is private or public,
Priority wise etc,

Thanks for your efforts.

This is an old, well known, enhancement request. See: https://trac.transmissionbt.com/ticket/2175

Transmission's tracker, or their forum, is the place to make this kind of request. But don't just add to the clutter since there is already one such request, and I believe there are others which ask to copy the Mac OS X version which has this feature (which by the way seems like a better idea, why copy uTorrent? when Transmission Mac already does the same thing.)

I do not agree with your statement about the second filter drop down, I use it all the time because its useful to see specific, private, trackers. Not so useful with public torrents, as you describe.

I don't have Transmission-GTK (or care to have it), but I really doubt the filter is any different, the same author makes both. Transmission on Mac OS X is a different story because the author is someone else.

Regarding second drop down it can be made more useful for the rest of us using public trackers at the same time allowing for private trackers feature

    See:- GTK3 Transmission on Fedora 17 http://i.imgur.com/sc8nm.jpg

with respect to above photo What I suggest is an another row below Priority say label which on hovering mouse will show another menu to the right with all labels to choose from. It will be great if we can create multiple lables for each torrent.

Moreover, I think UX/UI theming of Transmission can be improved a little as GTK3 version looks cleaner compared to Trqt...

Do you think The labelling feature will be there in next release because after reading some comments there in Trac I think the code part is ready but not merged to main repository.

    Anyway, Thanks .

It would be nice to be able to also have the files sorted under folders based on the label. Also, multiple labels + primary labels like uTorrent would be very nice.

Another way to go about it would be category folders + tags instead of primary and secondary labels.

First point is that enhancements should go first to the Transmission project's forum, unless they are Windows specific (which they will refuse since there is no official Windows version).

      "files sorted under folders"

I'm guessing you mean "torrents sorted under some kind of hierarchy". That's not going to happen, paraphrasing one of the answers on Transmission's tracker: the program is not a file navigator, nor a torrent classifier-manager-do it all. The objective is to keep things simple.

The labels (or tags) issue / enhancement is well known, but I already said that. The groups feature is also well known, and the Mac version has it (and there is no plan to change the other apps, the developers weren't happy the Mac version did it only for it, they had asked to do it for all versions, but it didn't went that way).

From this "unofficial port to Windows" point of view, my point of view: if I would find the feature useful, I would add it... but I don't. There are many interesting points, labels as described would be useful if you handle large quantities of torrents, I don't. Another is groups used to set different download properties (seed ratio, download directory), I already do that (under Linux) with an RSS feed monitor. Still another point is the priority given to the many different new features, I have some I would like to see, and those are the ones I'm working on, tags (as already added to the daemon by a user) is way down the list.

Thanks for this latest release 2.71. It is good really and has solved major problems.

    Thanks once again. :-)

(Please consider the Label feature for next release if possible.)
