Hi. I'm a bit confused as to how the --update switch works in Tripwire. If I run 'tripwire --update' it gives me the following error: ### Error: File could not be opened. ### Filename: /var/lib/tripwire/report/localhost-20020820-104833.twr ### No such file or directory ### Exiting... I read from a mail message posted on some mailinglist (cannot seem to find it again with Google) that you need to use --check or similar options (like --twrfile) for it to work. This makes me wonder; why is it then that the man page (version 2.3.1.2 for Linux; Redhat 7.2 RPM) says this: tripwire { -m u | --update } [ options... ] Which would indicate that nothing is required with --update, but that you can add optional options (unless I've got this backwards somehow). I'd be very happy if somebody could provide information on this. Thanks in advance, Erik Enge. |
