Hi all, i have a Problem zu compile the Tar - Programm (Version 1.13.19) on a sparc System with Solaris 9. The "make - Programm" stops at the point: /usr/bin/msgfmt -o ja.mo ../../po/ja.po If i try to compile the Pogram with the "--disable-nls" option no errors occur. But thats not a solution for me. Is there a well known Problem? Can somebody help me? Thanks a lot -Tom- MAKE: . . . make[2]: Entering directory `/opt/apps/tar-1.13.19/objdir/po' /usr/bin/msgfmt -o cs.mo ../../po/cs.po /usr/bin/msgfmt -o da.mo ../../po/da.po /usr/bin/msgfmt -o de.mo ../../po/de.po /usr/bin/msgfmt -o es.mo ../../po/es.po /usr/bin/msgfmt -o et.mo ../../po/et.po /usr/bin/msgfmt -o fr.mo ../../po/fr.po /usr/bin/msgfmt -o it.mo ../../po/it.po /usr/bin/msgfmt -o ja.mo ../../po/ja.po ERROR: Line 1392 (../../po/ja.po): Invalid character found. make[2]: *** [ja.mo] Error 2 make[2]: Leaving directory `/opt/apps/tar-1.13.19/objdir/po' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/opt/apps/tar-1.13.19/objdir' make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2 Configure Protokoll: [root@rfhs0026 objdir]# ../configure creating cache ./config.cache checking for a BSD compatible install... ../install-sh -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes checking for working aclocal... missing checking for working autoconf... found checking for working automake... missing checking for working autoheader... missing checking for working makeinfo... found checking for gcc... /soft/bin/gcc checking whether the C compiler (/soft/bin/gcc ) works... yes checking whether the C compiler (/soft/bin/gcc ) is a cross-compiler... no checking whether we are using GNU C... yes checking whether /soft/bin/gcc accepts -g... yes checking how to run the C preprocessor... /soft/bin/gcc -E checking whether /soft/bin/gcc needs -traditional... no checking for AIX... no checking for minix/config.h... no checking for Cygwin environment... no checking for mingw32 environment... no checking for executable suffix... no checking for ranlib... ranlib checking for special C compiler options needed for large files... no checking for _FILE_OFFSET_BITS value needed for large files... 64 checking for _LARGE_FILES value needed for large files... no checking for strerror in -lcposix... no checking for /soft/bin/gcc option to accept ANSI C... none needed checking for function prototypes... yes checking for working const... yes checking for inline... inline checking for fcntl.h... yes checking for limits.h... yes checking for linux/fd.h... no checking for memory.h... yes checking for net/errno.h... no checking for poll.h... yes checking for sgtty.h... yes checking for stdbool.h... yes checking for string.h... yes checking for stropts.h... yes checking for sys/buf.h... yes checking for sys/device.h... no checking for sys/gentape.h... no checking for sys/inet.h... no checking for sys/io/trioctl.h... no checking for sys/ioccom.h... yes checking for sys/mtio.h... yes checking for sys/param.h... yes checking for sys/tprintf.h... no checking for sys/tape.h... no checking for sys/time.h... yes checking for sys/timeb.h... yes checking for unistd.h... yes checking for wchar.h... yes checking for wctype.h... yes checking for sys/wait.h that is POSIX.1 compatible... yes checking for inttypes.h... yes checking for stdlib.h... yes checking for mbstate_t... yes checking for utime.h... yes checking for remote tape header files... yes checking whether free is declared... yes checking whether getgrgid is declared... yes checking whether getpwuid is declared... yes checking whether getenv is declared... yes checking whether malloc is declared... yes checking whether strtoul is declared... yes checking whether strtoull is declared... yes checking which ioctl field to test for reversed bytes... mt_type checking for dirent.h that defines DIR... yes checking for opendir in -ldir... no checking whether sys/types.h defines makedev... no checking for sys/mkdev.h... yes checking whether stat file-mode macros are broken... no checking for ANSI C header files... yes checking whether time.h and sys/time.h may both be included... yes checking for st_blksize in struct stat... yes checking for st_blocks in struct stat... yes checking whether struct tm is in sys/time.h or time.h... time.h checking for tm_zone in struct tm... no checking for tzname... yes checking for d_ino member in directory struct... yes checking for st_fstype string in struct stat... yes checking return type of signal handlers... void checking for mode_t... yes checking for pid_t... yes checking for off_t... yes checking for size_t... yes checking for uid_t in sys/types.h... yes checking for daddr_t... yes checking for major_t... yes checking for minor_t... yes checking for ssize_t... yes checking for unsigned long long... yes checking for stdlib.h...
