I've some problems in combination of the alpha version of TOra and the
instant client version of Oracle.
In previews version of TOra i could specify the path of each oracle
feature (include path, library path, home path etc).
Though, in the alpha version it's just possible to set the environment
due to ORACLE_HOME, which expects as it seems a fully installed oracle
client and/or fully installed database.
This isn't necessary at all, is it?
The file structure of the instant client is quite different to the one
oracle uses at their other distributions, so the libraries are in the
same path as the tnsnames.ora, so in the ORACLE_HOME directory.
The includes are quite different in their location
just the bin directory stays the same with
It's perl notification, since i saw that you're using perl for your
install scripts as it seems.
This problem results that oci.h will not be found during installation,
so gcc / g++ starts throwing errors about this.
Is there anything i could do about this? So i can try the alpha version of TOra?
Don't get me wrong, oracle itself won't install on my current linux
distribution at all (arch linux).
I've got TOra 1.3.21 running perfectly with the instant client, why
shouldn't this be possible any more with the new version of TOra?
