There is a "bug" in modify table code which is caused by the fact
that toOracleExtract:TableColumns SQL returns rpad(...., 32) column
data types. Thus modify table code finds "previous" data types to be
"DATE " (with trailing spaces) while "new" ones are "DATE"
(without trailing spaces) which makes them "different" and therefore
modify table code generates "alter table modify..." statements which
are totally useless.
While it is quite simple to just remove trailing spaces from column
type values in modify table code it raises a question, why have those
spaces been added in the first place? Could they be removed
(toOracleExtract:TableColumns query modified)?
I've been working with this SQL modified (removed rpad) and haven't
seen any shortcomings. But again, I'm not using all tools using this
