I've wirtten a (tiny) patch for Tiki Blogs that
provides an "extended text" feature.

"Extended text" means that a blog post can have a small
section of text shown on the blog page, yet have the
full text on the "perma link" page. This works with
single and multipage posts.

This patch brings Tiki blogs into line with products
such as GreyMatter, Blogger, MovableType etc, which do
not require all of a post to be on the front page of a
blog. They (in the main) do not support multi-page
posts, mind you ;-)

I'll put a bit more info on my userpage on Tikiwiki.org
(http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-editpage.php?page=UserPagecoofercat)
and you can also get me at http://www.coofercat.com/.

    In the patched tiki-view_blog.php, the following code:

    $listpages["data"][$i]["more"]=count($pre_snip_parts);

    ...should read...

    $listpages["data"][$i]["more"]=count($pre_snip_parts) -1;

    (This avoids putting a "read more" when it's not required)

    I've updated the patch for Tiki 1.9.0. Template changes are
    the same as for 1.8.3. The update also includes a patch to
    the RSS feed for the blog, which of course should (very
    much!) have the same data in it.

    (speaking of which, currently, the RSS puts all of the data
    into the feed - this isn't right, but this patch can help!)

    Please please can we have this in the next release? It's
    really useful!
