It's my fault. Did some features and didn't write any docs.
"use database for translation" means, that the strings are not translated
using a search in a php array. Translations are done using a database
query. You have to import the php arrays (via edit languages admin menu)
Luis, the tiki guru, added a Smarty prefilter (you don't have to know what
this is), and therefore the "use database for translation" feature is
somehow useless :-(
But if you want to use it: Switch it on, import some language files, and
then delete all %%* directories and directories like en, de, sp, ... in
the templates_c directory.

I've gotten a Wiki set up with Tiki on my virtual server. Thanks for all
I have several web sites hosted on my server under different URLs.
I would like to use Tiki on several of these sites, but with different
rules. For example, one page might have a section that anyone can edit, but
on another site this would be dangerous. I basically would like to be able
to change everything from one site to the next except still use the same
Can I do what I want without duplicating the installation of Tiki in
several different places on the same server?
Thanks again for all your help! This list is great.
