I ran demo.opensourcecms.com/tiki 1.9.2 as follows:

Turn on wiki attachments feature in wiki
administration.

Create a new wiki page called NewPage.

Attach a text file called scratch.txt to NewPage,
with a file description of "Scratch text."

Edit NewPage to add a descriptive link to scratch.txt
as follows:

Turn on wikihelp and copy the syntax for Wiki File
Attachments, which reads:
{file name=file.ext desc="description text"
page="wiki page name" showdesc=1}

Paste into NewPage and edit so that it reads:
{file name=scratch.txt desc="something nice"
page="NewPage" showdesc=1}

Save the edited page.

Double click the link to the file attachment.

This appears to find the page but not the file
attachment, giving an error message.

It does not seem to help if optional parameters are
omitted, namely desc="something nice" page="NewPage"
and/or showdesc=1.

Notes:

(1) Either the information in wikihelp could more
clearly align with the code, or vice versa.

(2) Functional alternatives could be provided in the
wikihelp, for example:

{ATTACH(num=>1,icon=y,showdesc=y)}{ATTACH}

or

[tiki-download_file.php?fileId=1|scratch.txt]

(3) I am a total newbie. Apologies if I am in any way
out of line. On the other hand, I hope this report is
helpful.
