i'm writing a doc on threads and the use of threads in the current 3dsia
i think this will be good documentation for a start at least :)
and yes, linux can support 4096 process, but the thread table can hold only
1024 threads (i'll document that in the upcomming doc).
I've read somewhere that the usual kernels supports only 512 processes for the
super-user and half that for a normal user, so the number of processes is
Apache launches a thread for ca 10-100 (or more?) users...
there seem to exist C++ wrappers for threads, i'll look that up too.
but hey, you'll read about that the next few days.
and then, i don't know how much people experience this but the client crashes
*constantly* after having rendered a few frames. i think glut is not
or whatsoever. anyway, if i "//" the checkthread-call, i get visual but
movement,keyboard stuff etc doesnt work (because thats handled in the
checkthread. If anyone has a solution to this pleas put it on the list
because its very frustrating and i can't locate the bug(s) precisely.
-> PS :anyone who knows how i can determine the memory address where a plugin
is loaded with dlopen(), please let me know ! I need it for debugging...
Q: is it the (void *)handler ???
