I was just wondering if anyone know if there is a maximum number of tftp sessions that can be running at one time. . .like how many machines can be grabbing the image at once? Thanks. |

Just wondering if anyone has wireless working in TS? I was hoping to use a thinstation to wirelessly setup RDP on an older laptop. . .pending pcmcia support of course, but was wondering what wireless cards people have had success with. |

I managed to make a PCMCIA network card (regular Ethernet 3Com, not WiFi) to work with TS (loaded from a local HD). I had to bring in the pcmcia RPM from RedHat 7.3 distribution (converted to TS package). The card modules could be compiled from the TS kernel source, but the card did not work without the cardmgr. I had to tweak the pcmcia start script a little bit to fit the TS layout. By the way, pcmcia module that comes with TS does not help much. Now I am trying to make a 802.11b card to work (I have D-Link DWL-650, an early one). It works fine under Knoppix with orinoco/hermes modules, but I think Knoppix uses later versions. So far I can load the modules, but iwconfig (from wireless-tools RPM) does not recognize it as a wireless device (although ifconfig shows the eth1 device). If anyone has any success with any wireless cards, please share the experience. Well, it looks like you have been playing with this quite a bit. It sounds like you are making progress. I will have to try knoppix with my wireless cards. How do you set WEP/WPA settings in knoppix? If you run tftp under xinetd, you can control the number of sessions on "/etc/xined.d/tftp" by declaring the number of "instances" and "per_source". The defaults are in "/etc/xinetd.conf". Osvaldo.
