Release Notes - VDC 1.0.5

New Features:

- Individual Customized VDC: Allow to create a custom view of the VDC in your site, with your header and footer and a subset of the collections.

- VM ware based release: This version of the VDC is mainly for testing or evaluation. It only runs locally.

VDC 1.0.4 Final Released

VDC 1.0.4 Final Release Notes:

- Statistical analysis: 25 advanced statistical models from Zelig are provided; with support for model summary statistics, plots, predictive simulation and sensitivity analysis.
- Bookmarking and citation support: study citations; bookmarks to subsets of data; Universal Numeric Fingerprint's (UNF's) for variables, files, and studies
- Federation administration: integrated OAI federation support, OAI harvesting administration, Harvesting provenance tracking
- Provenance support: provenance display, provenance tracking in harvesting and ingest, clickthru support
- Dropbox support: data uploads by pseudononymous contributors, with review
- DataFerrett/TheDataWeb support. Studies ingested in VDC can be made available (on request) to TheDataWeb (http://thedataweb.org) for search and analysis

The VDC Development Team (vdc-dev [AT] latte [dot] harvard [dot] edu) is pleased to announce the official 1.03 Release of the VDC.

The Virtual Data Center (VDC) is an OSS digital library system "in a box" for numeric data.

VDC provides a complete open-source, digital library system for the management, dissemination, exchange, and citation of virtual collections of quantitative data The VDC functionality provides everything necessary to maintain and disseminate an individual collection of research studies: including facilities for the storage, archiving, cataloging, translation, and dissemination of each collection. On-line analysis is provided, powered by the R Statistical environment. VDC Daily Builds

The VDC development team is proud to announce the immediate availability of the VDC daily builds for Red Hat 7.3, Red Hat 9 and Fedora Core 1. Support for Red Hat EL AS and Fedora Core 2 are coming soon.
