Apologies,

Ubuntu 12.04 and 12.10 (two different machines), both running TXS 2.6.4 installed from .deb file. No problems seen on a Windows 7 machine.

I was trying to work out why rendering of text in the editor was so poor (I think it is something to do with anti-aliasing), so I tried in desperation randomly checking/unchecking various options. Finally the best result comes when I uncheck "Disable cache of rendered lines". Why is that? What does this do behind the scenes to ruin anti-aliasing?
