At least on Linux with TeXstudio 2.6.0 beta (SVN 4017M), if the following MCE:

\begin{filecontents*}{otherfile.cfg}

\href{otherfile.cfg}{Go to \texttt{otherfile.cfg}}
\end{document}

is run with pdflatex and viewed with the embedded TXS viewer,

clicking on the first link "Go to otherfile.tex" opens the corresponding file in TXS,
clicking on the second link "Go to otherfile.cfg" doesn't open the file corresponding in TXS, whereas TXS deals with .cfg files.

It could be nice to make .cfg files, and more generally all the files TXS can handle, opened in TXS as well.

BTW, in the previous example, the \begin{filecontents*} commands is recognized by TXS, but not the \end{filecontents*} ones.

Not in the status line but by user scripts (which you can access from the menu and assign shortcuts):

I suppose this solution is sufficient. Therefore, I don't plan to add this to the status line.

#448 Delimiter check

When you place the cursor next to a delimiter, the deleimiter and its counterpart are highlighted (red on yellow background if they match, yellow on red if they don't).

You can create menu entries yourself at Macros -> Edit Macros....

Indent sub-environments

Another killing feature of Emacs that would be nice TXS have is the indentation of sub-environments. For instance, inserting a otherenv if the cursor is line 1 below:

0:\begin{env}
1:|
2:\end{env}
3:text

results in (cursor line 2):

0:\begin{env}
1:  \begin{otherenv}
2:    |
3:  \end{otherenv}
4:\end{env}
5:text

It is very useful with nested lists:
