I've been using the amsrefs package for creating bibliographies in some of my projects. In case you haven't heard of it, amsrefs is a biblbiography/citation package developed by the American Mathematical Society. Here are some links:

Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMSRefs
Documentation: ftp://ftp.ams.org/pub/tex/amsrefs/amsrdoc.pdf

I find the package very convenient for short (mathematical) bibliographies. Unfortunately, the autocompletion for the \cite{} command doesn't work with amsrefs. It would be great if this could be implemented.

You can simply create a .cwl file for this.

See this wiki entry and the manual here and here

If you share the .cwl here, we will include it in the next release.
