Would it be possible to add a context menu options for selected text to be converted to upper, lower and capitalize text?

This is a rather special feature,

IMHO, not so special: I often use it with Emacs. TXS is also an editor
and hence could provide such editing feature.

so it will not be add to the context menu.

I could be added in the "Edit" menu.

I agree with Jan, but we can leave this request open. So people can vote it up if there is interest.

There is already a script for this in the examples:

I've just started using TeXstudio and it is nice that it is so customizable. But changing case is something that I need to do all the time. I used to use it a lot with TeXShop on the Mac. so I think it would be nice to have it by default (in the Edit menu which isn't too cluttered). SO I support the OP request.

Even TeXWorks (which is a fairly simple TeX editor) has a Change Case menu item. This feature might be good to have for beginners who aren't confident with customizing TeXstudio (although I will certainly install the script myself).
      thanks, Glenn.

Version 2.7.0 introduces this functionality in Edit -> Text Operations.
