#19 autocomplete without words in the completed syntax

For example, when I autocomplete \frac, it would come out as:

\frac{numerator}{denominator}

and I'd have to Ctl left/right to replace the two.

I feel like we should have an option for autocomplete just to be:

\frac{}{}

(The ctl left/right syntax is convenient for me, but I personally find the words to be distracting.)

    I should probably point out that, in the current version, it does still include "num" and "dem" in the autocomplete, and we have to delete them manually -_-

    However, VERY nice change to alter the \begin{environment-name} and \end{environment-name} at the same time.

    I found a slight bug with the latter. Specifically, what happens when you try to insert an environment within an environment. When you do it within the placeholder box "content", weird stuff happens. The minimal example is typing the following words literally:

    "\beg" Enter (to select from drop down), Ctl + right (to go to content placeholder) "\beg" Enter

    The result is:

    \begin{environment-name}
    \begin{environment-name}
    content...
    \end{content...t-name}
    \end{environment-name}

  • the bug is fixed in r503.

    However, the change with the option to disable placeholders has nothing to do with this feature request, but was only a workaround for people who really hate the placeholder or experience a fatal bug (something like the content bug you found; there it synchronized the last environment-name with the placeholder after the correct placeholder. Luckily there was the "content..." placeholder, otherwise it would have crashed)
    Placeholder without text are too difficult to be implemented before the next release
