Hunspell french dictionaries have been updated (used by OpenOffice.org / LibreOffice, pour Firefox, Thunderbird, Kompozer, Evolution, Pidgin, Abiword, Eclipse)
The modern dictionary is recommended, it can be found at http://dicollecte.org/download.php?prj=fr
I quote this site:
"Le dictionnaire «Moderne» propose une orthographe selon les usages actuels, c’est-à-dire qu’il suit la lente acceptation de la réforme dans le langage courant. C’est un dictionnaire classique avec certaines graphies nouvelles passées dans l’usage courant. C’est le dictionnaire que nous recommandons."
Roughly translated:
"The «Modern» dictionary proposes a spelling according to current custom, that is to say it follows the slow acceptance of the reform in common language. It is a classical dictionary with some new spellings that entered in common custom. That is the dictionary we recommend."

The updated thesaurus is here: http://www.dicollecte.org/download/fr/thesaurus-v2.2.2.zip

If no one objects, could we update the french dictionary in TeXmakerX and maybe refer to the site http://www.dicollecte.org?

Discussion

  • Is it consensus to change the dictionary ?

Anyway, i will not do an update until after the release of tmx 2.0 as the text coding seems to be different ...

    Hi,

I will ask Denis's opinion on that. I doubt that alone I would make a good consensus! :-)

There is no hurry I think. I opened this Bug report just in order to document the option.
    Thanks
