I just downloaded the 2.3 version Texstudio, and is trying to add a
resume.cls. I put the class file in the same folder with my tex file, but
texstudio cannot recognise it. What should I do? Thanks.

  • what exactly is your problem ?
Can't you generate a pdf / latex compilation or do you have problems with the
    texstudio syntaxcheck ?

    To jsundermeyer,

Texstudio cannote recognise the "/reusme" "/address" which are defined in the
    resume.cls, and I cannot generate latex/pdf.

  • you are still to unclear.
If run pdflatex, you do get errors from the pdflatex in the log viewer/error
    tab ?
Which operating system do you use ? Windows ?

Sorry that I was away for a few days.

    I am using Windows 7.

    Yes I do get errors:
Error: Could not start the command: "/usr/texbin/pdflatex" -synctex=1
    -interaction=nonstopmode "Resume".tex
Error: Could not start the command: "/usr/texbin/pdflatex" -synctex=1
    -interaction=nonstopmode "Resume".tex

    My LaTex setting is "/usr/texbin/latex" -synctex=1 -interaction=nonstopmode
%.tex. This is not the original setting, but the original setting doesn't work
too. How should I change it?

    Thanks.

  • you have used the command settings for linux. No way that they work for
    windows.
What were the original settings ? What errors did you get there ?
By they way, you have Miktex installed on your computer ?

    The original setting is
    LaTex: latex -src -interaction=nonstopmode %.tex
    PdfLaTex: pdflatex -synctex=1 -interaction=nonstopmode %.tex

Error: Could not start the command: latex -src -interaction=nonstopmode
    "Resume".tex

No, I do not have miktex, do I need to install it?

  • do you have texlive installed ?
Anyway, texstudio is only a text editor with some extened support for writing
    tex-source.
To translate the latex text file to pdf, you need the actual latex compiler
which is provided by either miktex (miktex.org) or texlive. I believe that on
windows miktex is more common. So, if you don't have a latex compiler
installed, you need to install miktex.
