#931 TexStudio executes some kind of self-test on startup

No

Install TexStudio 2.7.0 for Ubuntu 13.10 (amd64) today, and on first start (or after deleting ~/.config/texstudio), TexStudio performs some kind of self-test.

Many tests fail, simply because the expected values are paths from some typical miktex windows install.

Furthermore, the self-test is a total surprise and seems more like a malfunction of some sort for the first few seconds. In fact, I quit texstudio 3 times before I let the tests run through and finally realized what it actually was.

This does not seem appropriate for a release build.

Indeed, it seems that a debug build was deployed instead of the release build. Sorry for the inconvenience. We'll replace the downloads. As a temporary workaround you can start TXS with the commandline option --disable-tests.

Are only linux-builds affected? Because before I installed 2.7.0 myself I told some Windows users about the update.

Yes. The windows binaries are ok.
