You can try out the precompiled xUbuntu package from our website, which an up-to-date 2.5.2 version.</p>

<p>To reproduce it's enough to create a new document, type a minimal latex file and hit F1. </p>
<p>Default settings and texlive 2012 installed. I was evaluating switching from texmaker but obviously won't as long as this is not fixed. </p>
<p>I did not check if I can make it crash in other ways but if you need me to try something else or send log files etc. ask away.
