When it comes to auto-completion, texstudio only seems to know the deprecated \bf and friends. The new \bfseries and friends do not appear in the list of command. \bf and friends have been deprecated for some time no, so I'm calling this a bug.

For a list of commands see http://www.forkosh.com/pstex/latexcommands.htm

Here are some sites confirming that \bf and friends are deprecated:

This bug was reported by me. Didn't login before posting it.

  • it is present in the "all"-tab in the completer.
If use it twice from there, it will be available in the typical/moste used tab as well.

Ooops, didn't check the "all"-tab. However, for example \mdseries is unknown to texstudio. I will check all other commands and provide a list.

Also, clearly, it should be the other way round. \bf should be in the "all"-tab, and \bfseries should appear in the "typical"-tab. Otherwise, you encourage use of deprecated commands.

If you can provide a list of commands that are suggested and should not be because they are deprecated, we are happy to include those changes. Same with commands that should be suggestest.

About deprecated commands, see for instance l2tabu "package" (German, Italian and French versions are more up to date than English and Spanish ones).
