System1:
Win 7 64Bit Ultimate SP1 - i5 750@2.67GHz - 12GB Ram
TexnicCenter 2.02_Stable x64
Miktex 2.9 (basic-miktex-2.9.4813-x64.exe) installed and updated

System2:
Win 7 64Bit Home Premium - AMD E450 APU @ 1.65Ghz - 8GB Ram
TexnicCenter 2.02_Stable x64
Miktex 2.9 (basic-miktex-2.9.4521-x64.exe) installed and updated

Such a report already existed for an older version and was closed:
https://sourceforge.net/p/texniccenter/user-reports/1162/

Anyway I have exactly the same problem with the stable version and no idea what's wrong:

TXC hangs/crashes ("TeXniCenter has stopped working") when I
- double-click a .tex file, or
- file.open and try to open a .tcp file, or
- file.open then try to open a .tex file, or
- file.new from template, English, Titlepage

Interesting & maybe useful info:
System2 - previously had TexnicCenter 2Beta2 installed which worked fine. AFTER I upgraded to the stable version - it crahes.
A reinstall of 2Beta2 does not work anymore and also crashes from that time on.

    Hi!
I recommend using Texmaker (http://www.xm1math.net/texmaker) instead! It is stable, works fine and compiles much faster.

    Cheers!

I have the same problem. I updated from 2Beta2, too and even reinstalling of this version doesn't work any more.

Maybe I was in the last post wrong. Now I tried 2Beta1 and this is working! So if you have this kind of crashing problem, try 2Beta1.

I have Win7 64bit and installed the TeXnicCenter 64bit Version.

I tried before all kind of newer Versions (32bit and 64) and none of them works. All crashed while opening a file. When deleting all dictionaries before, an error box appears that a dictionary couldn't be opened and I can see my opened file in the background, but after clicking "ok" in the error message, TeXnicCenter crashes, too.
