Files from network drives can not be compiled (with texlive) because texniccenter sends a unc-path to pdflatex (error: "there is no line here to end", because pdflatex thinks that "\\server\share" has a line break in front). Same error occurs when trying to call an external program via write18 with miktex (then cmd errors that unc-paths are not supported with cmd.exe).
So there should be an option to change the unc-path (like \\server\share) that are generated by %pm into a path of the mouted drive (like z:\\path)

So why are you not loading it from the mounted drive in the first place? We send whatever the filename is. And I don't see a way to find out that Z is your drive for \\foo\bar.

Thanks for taking the time to submit us your report.

Your suggestion is interesting, but does not seem to fit into the current development roadmap. The current plannings and the general strategy for TXC deviate from your suggestion. Therefore, the issue will not be added to one of our trackers. However, we thank you very much for supporting TXC and hope to be more at your service some other time.
