    Unfortunately I did run an update of my eclipse system and now the soft wrap feature doesn't work any more.
    Has anyone ideas how to fix it (apart from reinstalling an older eclipse version)?

    Last working setup:
        C/C++ Development Tools 8.1.0.201201301112
        CollabNet Merge Client 3.0.7
        Eclipse SDK 4.2.0.I20120127-1145
        Subclipse (Required) 1.8.5
        Subclipse Integration for Mylyn 3.x (Optional) 3.0.0
        Subversion Client Adapter (Required) 1.8.1
        Subversion JavaHL Native Library Adapter (Required) 1.7.3
        Subversion Revision Graph 1.1.1
        TeXlipse 1.5.0
    Actual Setup:
        C/C++ Development Tools 8.1.0.201203210002
        CollabNet Merge Client 3.0.8
        Eclipse SDK 4.2.0.I20120315-1300

    The text wrapping doesn't work with Eclipse 4.2.

    Hi

    I've discovered the same. Though there is a non optimal way of doing the wrapping since it is possible to press Esc + Q to correct the wrapping for a given line. This works in 4.2

    Hi

    I did some looking into the code yesterday and debugging. I found an error being generated, but I did manage to find the source of the error, but I've contacted one of the current developers of list, and I'll see if he has any good ideas.
    As this is a major issue in the case of TeXlipse, this is something I also need working and I'll look some more into when I get the feedback from the developer.

    What I can say is the due to Eclipse not supporting soft wrap!, see the bug https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=35779 which is over 9 ! years old, the way that  TeXlipse implements soft wrapping is not straight forward, as it calls the underlying SWT renderer and changes the wrapping there, breaking line numbers and other references in the process.

    Regards

    Pål

  • Its pretty clear from the long discussion on https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=35779 that Eclipse will not, in the foreseeable future, support wrapping in a decent way. Am I correct in assuming that TeXlipse builds strongly on the core Eclipse editor component? And re-deriving it from something that *does* support wrap, like EclipseColorer, would be a huge amount of work?

    I don't get it to work either.

    This is too bad, because it is a really important feature.

    Has anyone else got this to work on Eclipse Juno?
