Hi,

I'm trying to use tesseract with a tiff file...

My commans is :

**
tesseract images/passeport3.tif test.txt batch
**
And the answer I get is :

**
Tesseract Open Source OCR Engine
Image has 8 bits per pixel and size (200,150)
Resolution=72
IMAGE::check_legal_access:Error:Coordinates in image
out of bounds:(0+3,148)
Abandon
**

I've generated this .tif image with GIMP...

That should be compatible ?

I guess there is something wrong in what I do...

Any idea?

Thanks!!!

    GIMP will generate greyscale rather than monochrome tiff
    files I believe, and this is the error you get from
    tesseract-OCR if you feed it a greyscale tiff. You could fix
    the file up with Imagemagick using "convert -monochrome".
