      Copy and paste the patch into a file, starting with the line beginning "---" and ending just before the "--" preceding the poster's sig. Copy the resultant file into the root source directory of Tesseract, as debian.patch. Then:

      $ patch -p0 < debian.patch

      If that doesn't work with this version of sources, you may need to just go through and manually apply the patch, by replacing the relevant lines with your favorite editor. Or you could also rtfm:

      $ man patch
