I installed Tencoder yesterday and it worked fine. Went to use it again today and when I launched the app i got an error page. Tried to send the bug report but that wouldn't go through. I've attached a screen shot of the error page.
Can you post a screen shot of "call stacks" tab? Or, if it exists "bugreport.txt", next to TEncoder.exe?
You seem to have CSS turned off.
Please don't fill out this field.
Thanks for getting back to me.
Here are screen shots of call stacks and the bugreport.txt
Do you have any files under Profiles folder in TEncoder directory? Problem happens when TEncoder searches files under that folder, but I cannot see anything that can cause an access violation.
Edit: a typo
Yes. There are 100s of files in that folder. Here is screen shot of first page of them.
I really can't see how this happens. Perhaps these two can solve it:
1 - Try disabling skinning:
As I understand it you can't open TEncoder. First try to "continue" when this error window shows up. If you cannot do this, you must edit ini file manually. If you are using portable version, it is "settings.ini" file. For installed version, -under Win7- it is located at "C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\VC". Open it with notepad, find the line "Skinning=0" and change it to "Skinning=1".
2 - Try disabling automatic update checks:
Again, first try changing this under setting window. If you can't, follow the steps above to find your settings.ini file. Locate the line "Update=1" and change it to "Update=0".
For both steps make sure TEncoder isn't running and remember to save ini file.
These two are most common sources of trouble. As I couldn't locate your problem's source, these are the best I could come up with. If these two don't solve your problem, I can try sending you the latest build I have here and see if it works for you.
Thanks. I made change #1 and it worked! Will be interesting to see if it continues to work after shutting it down and starting again. Will be doing this tomorrow.
No problem. I don't see how this happens tho.
