#289 att.canonical for model.persTraitLike

No

In a recent ticket it was decided that 'faith' was a good candidate to have att.canonical added to it.

Similarly all the other members of model.persTraitLike should probably have this added. This consists of:

age faith langKnowledge nationality sex socecStatus trait

In most of these a use-case could be made for wanting to point out to, say, a taxonomy or authority file of some sort.

Possibly other things that can appear inside 'person' should be reconsidered at the same time.

It seems fairly clear what the solution to this would be were it accepted, so I'm not sure why this is RED? Surely it should be AMBER (or rejected)...

Does someone want to draw up a list of the possible "other things" that James mentions above?

Some of these are already done; we will check for those which need it.

It's not clear whether this ticket is saying that all members of persTraitLike should also be members of att.canonical or only some. I cannot think of any canonical name or taxonomy for <age> or <langKnowledge> might be, though no doubt someone can imagine one. <socEcStatus> already does this but using a locally-defined @scheme attribute while <sex> and <nationality> have their own ways... So maybe there's scope for a more careful consideration of to what extent we want to harmonise these.

Council suggests James come up with a slightly more detailed proposal of changes. (Council face to face 2012-09)

Changing to Red since I've not yet come up with the detailed proposal.
