#602 Empty Guidelines from Debian package

Dominique Meeùs

My Ubuntu system is always up to date (tei-p5-doc is 2.5.0), but I realise now that
is empty (except header and footer), with links to other languages of equally deep emptyness.

    Just checked on my Ubuntu 10.04 system with the same version of tei-p5-doc and I have all the documentation in place and intact. Most files date from the end of July. I do see a CSS display issue we'll have to look at, though. The header "TEI P5: Guidelines for Electronic Text Encoding and Interchange" overlaps the in-page table of contents.

    Purge the package and reinstall?

    • I did. File 30-7-2013 01:34:46 CEST.
      Content is still empty:
      <!-- front matter --><div class="tei_front">></div>
      <!--body matter --><div class="tei_body"></div>
      <!--back matter --><div class="tei_back"></div>

      Packages are installed from http://tei.oucs.ox.ac.uk/teideb/binary, distribution ./
      Is there a better repository?

    Ah. I think I may have hacked my index.html file, now I look at it, playing around with the layout a few months ago. I've just reinstalled and I see the same thing. Sebastian, we did change the setup to eliminate index-toc.html in favour of index.html -- this must be something to do with that change, surely.

    I tried to install this on a laptop that didn't have it installed before and got:

    Need to get 158 MB of archives.
    After this operation, 492 MB of additional disk space will be used.
    Get:1 http://tei.oucs.ox.ac.uk/teideb/binary/ ./ tei-p5-doc 2.5.0 [158 MB]
    Fetched 158 MB in 1min 6s (2,384 kB/s)
    Failed to fetch http://tei.oucs.ox.ac.uk/teideb/binary/./tei-p5-doc_2.5.0_all.deb Size mismatch
    E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?

  • Got many upgrades on my Ubuntu machine at the office. Accepted all. Among the lot, the index of the Guidelines was back.

    Ditto here. Package version info still shows 2.5.0, but the index.html is working, and the CSS layout issue seems to have fixed itself.

  • I claim this is fixed
