FWIW, I've submitted a few small patches to make Tcl and Tk build with
the latest 8.4.0 code base. Tcl patch #607005 and Tk patch # 607009.
The result is a succesful build of TclKit, for 68K and PPC, continuing
the work Daniel Steffen did. Binaries, also fat/merged, can be found at:
Also to be found there are Mac OSX builds, of the XDarwin variety, *not*
Aqua. Verified to run on 10.1 and 10.2 - but if you want "package Tk" to
succeed, you'll need the usual X11 shebang (Oroborosx running, DISPLAY
Last data point: I'm happy to confirm that one can build the latest
AquaTk on 10.1.5 using Apple's April 2002 developer beta of PB2 (a hefty
download from the ADC site, free but requires registration). And that
since Daniel has been right on all counts so far, he probably also is
when he says that the resulting build will run on 10.1 and 10.2 ...
PS. Re Tcl conference: yep Mark, count me in - BOF, chat, whatever.
