This is a weird problem: I downloaded TiK (the AIM client written in
Tcl/Tk) and made a Mac OS X bundled app out of it by taking a 'Wish
Shell.app', copying all relevant files to the Resources/Scripts folder
and making a AppMain.tcl which sources the start script (so I did what
I always do).
Now, when I double-click the app, it's icon starts bouncing in the dock
(everything fine so far) but after a few seconds vanishes again without
error message, crash report or anything!
Strange is that all the following ways to start the app _do_ work:
launching via one of Apple's developer tools (namely MallocDebug,
ObjectDebug and Thread Viewer), in gdb ('gdb TiK.app'),
sourcing the AppMain.tcl in a wish and starting the TiK executable
(which actually is a 'Wish Shell') from the command line
Does anybody know what is going wrong??
Almost more important: How do I track down this kind of errors? There
has to be some way to inspect what's happening during application start
up; unfortunately the console doesn't say anything.
