the tcl shell crashes, if the registry package queries the sub keys of a registry key, where the sub keys have perhabs illegal names.

The syntax leading to those crashes is simply:

    registry keys $path;

Those sub keys are e.g.

1. "Accessibility, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a, processorArchitecture=MSIL"
2. "CustomMarshalers, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a, processorArchitecture=x86"
3. "ISymWrapper, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a, processorArchitecture=x86"
