Category: 20. [interp] Group: development: 8.5a5 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Michael Schlenker (mic42) Assigned to: Jeffrey Hobbs (hobbs) Summary: interp transfer leaks information when transfering channels Initial Comment: The interp transfer command leaks some information, the channel name, which can be used to determine if a channel is connected to a file or socket for example, into a safe interpreter. As there is currently no easy way to rename a channel, building a token like it is done for filenames in the safe base is not as easy as it could be. This is more a suggestion for tcl 9, but interp transfer could return an interp specific alias token, so that a safe slave could not determine what kind of channel he gets from the opaque value. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=110894&aid=1577730&group_id=10894 |
