The discussion petered down after this, leaving one open issue
     (http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Mail/Message/2726318)
and a suggestion by Donal to wait until "until we've got that other 
(alternate?) proposal more fleshed out"
     (http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Mail/Message/tcl-core/2726655).
This was a reaction to a comment by Don
     (http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Mail/Message/tcl-core/2726542)
that was later retracted
      (http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Mail/Message/tcl-core/2726948)

I think we should discuss this last open issue in the very near future, 
as I would like to call a vote on this TIP soon.
