Bugs item #415271, was updated on 2001-04-10 16:13 You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=112997&aid=415271&group_id=12997 Category: Win Window Operations Group: Feature Request Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Requesting for MS accessibility feature Initial Comment: Hi, I have been exchanging few emails with Jeff Hobbs and he suggested me to report to track this item for future release of Tcl/Tk. Windows 2000 ships with a magnifier utility (Program Menu->Accessories->Accessibility->Magnifier) which allows for user can track (or focus) traversing GUI app windows via Tab-key from keyboard and any text being entered through the keyboard. According Microsoft Windows 2000 logo certification requirement list, this is an required functionality to be supported by Windows GUI application. Following URL explains more details about Windows 2000 logo certification: http://msdn.microsoft.com/certification/download.asp In Section 3.4 of Server specification (Expose the location of the keyboard focus) explains which Win32 APIs can be used to add the magnifier support in the GUI application. We (in NCR Corporation) have a Tcl/Tk application as part of Teradata RDBMS server package and it was failing this requirement. Because Windows logo certifcation is somewhat new in Tcl/Tk community, it is no surprise that MS accessibility feature is not implemented in Tcl/Tk. Actually the latest version of Java 1.3 does not support MS accessibility either. Could you please consider implementing MS accessibility feature into the Tk core in the future release ? Note that this request only specific Windows platform only.
