Hi!

I found a very severe bug when tying to use a specific preset. The program is segfaulting immidiately after receiving note-ons. The bug is reproducible (always). I'm attaching the gdb output (with backtrace). Do you want the preset file too?

Karl

  • yes, the offending preset file would be most welcome. please.

    ps. duh. while on the backtrace i see an completely invalid (negative) value for an oscillator frequency. i wonder which oscillator? really need to look at the preset parameter values. maybe some are utterly off limits... o.O

    Here you go.

  • got it (Ett CS2x test.synthv1)... now's strange that it doesn't segfault on me, but i noticed that Synth2/DEF2:Pitchbend setting is way too high (100)--check if it still crashes when you set it lower to sane range levels (default is 20).

    cheers

    Hmm, well, this is strange. The reproducibility disappeared and it runs fine on both my computers. Strange... But I can confirm that I didn't do anything with the preset file (I just saved it using the program).

    By the way, it doesn't seem like the pitchbend was causing the problem.

    I guess the bug can be closed because I can't seem to reproduce it again. I can reopen it if I see this bug again...

  • although it doesn't crash i also detected negative frequency values being generated on some special occasions, often due on high and extreme pitchbend values, obviously on the down swing.

    i hope to fix or mitigate that soon, only then should this ticket get closed.

    cheers && thanks
