Hi, I'm an engineer on the Safari/WebKit team at Apple. I heard about the Syllable port of WebKit today from OSNews.com, which linked to http://syllable.org/story.php?id=265 . It sounds like a lot of effort has gone into this port, and it's great to see that it's working so well. It's always exciting to see WebKit being used in new places! I want to invite the Syllable developers working on WebKit to join forces with the main WebKit effort at http://webkit.org/. We have a very multi-platform-friendly source tree and community, and would love to work with you. Some of the resources the WebKit project has to offer are: * Subversion repository at http://svn.webkit.org/ * Bugzilla installation at http://bugs.webkit.org/ * Buildbot installation with slaves for most of our ports at http://build.webkit.org/ * nightly builds for our Mac and Windows versions at http://nightly.webkit.org/ * public IRC channel (#webkit on FreeNode) * public mailing list at web...@li... All of these resources are currently shared by all of our ports (Mac, Windows, Qt, Gdk, and wx, as well as Nokia's S60 WebKit), and we are more than happy to share them will the Syllable port as well. We can all benefit from bug fixes and new features in cross-platform code, and it will be much easier for the Syllable port to stay up-to- date with the latest changes in WebKit if we are living in the same repository. Feel free to contact me at ar...@ap..., find me on #webkit (nick: aroben), or send mail to web...@li... if you want more information or would like to talk about integrating the Syllable port into the webkit.org effort. -Adam Roben |
