I'm trying to test out a fade plugin that I am attempting to write but I
get stuck trying to compile the Makefile.am.
Here's the message...
automake --amdir=/usr/local/sweep-0.1.1/ Makefile.am
automake: couldn't open `configure.in': No such file or directory
Can anyone tell me how to get round this?

where is the plugin?
if you have a plugin in, say:
then make sure "fade" is included in SUBDIRS in plugins/Makefile.am
and add "plugins/fade/Makefile" to AC_OUTPUT in configure.in in the toplevel
source dir, and then run 'automake' and 'autoconf' and './configure' from
the toplevel source dir, and your Makefile should get built
(simple, eh? ;)
