While I was playing a longer sound sample, I moved the
horizontal scroll bar to the right. The "Scrubby"
jumped to the left edge of the samples that came into
sight. Is this a bug or a feature? I thought, as long
as I don't touch the "Scrubby" itself, playing has to
go on continuously. Was this assumption right?

this behaviour is deliberate, but you're right that it's
    probably not
always wanted -- I'll make scrubby more configurable anyway, and
maybe turn this off by default.

    thanks for the feedback

You can toggle this behaviour via View->Autoscroll; turning that
off detatches the cursor from the view window, so you can scroll around
while it's playing. The reason for the default deliberate behaviour is to
make it easy to scan through a file, and so that the cursor doesn't get
    lost too easily.
