The SVG plugin is based on the Batik SVG framework from Apache. Once installed it adds a couple of features to Eclipse that allow the display and editing of SVG files (editors, views, wizards). Files can be printed and exported to JPEG, TIFF, PNG and PDF. The plugin supports Eclipse 3.0 and 3.1, both with Java 1.4 or Java 1.5.
This release fixes a small problem with not cleaning up some threads and resources when closing an editor or view that displays an SVG graphic.
A new release of the SVG plugin for Eclipse has been made available today. The new release includes support for printing, online help, scrollable graphical editors, etc.... The overall performance and stability was improved as well.
As of today (April 29th 2004) the entire source code for the SVG Plugin for Eclipse has been released to the public domain.
