in all honesty, i think the best thing to do would be to get rid of all
of this legacy ifdeffery for ancient glibc's.
if someone still uses these obsolete library versions full of security
vulns, which is unlikely, he/she can still use the latest release
nonetheless find attached the updated patch.
commit-msg style should be ok now...
