For research, I am developing an OS running on PC based (Intel CPU) = machines. I am using gcc to generate code sections for the kernel. I would like to use C++ STL (more specifically, containers) for some of = the "upper layers" of functionality in the OS, rather than roll my own algorithms / data structures. Does STLport have a well-defined interface to the underlying platform? I need to determine what functionality must be provided by me in the = kernel in order to support STLport. Is STLport modularized such that I can choose to only support the = containers portion of the library (and not IOstreams or string), or are there considerable internal dependencies? Would I have to support all the legacy "C" headers? (i.e., are cstdio, = csignal, etc. used internally in the library?)=20 Thanks, Mike |
