Arrrrggghhhh! Bogdan you were right :( Khalid, are you using OpenGL1 or Opengl2? Could you try with both safe and normal mode? Fabien PS: on the button on the left I see that there is at least a smiley :) On Mon, May 31, 2010 at 16:55, Khalid AlAjaji <ka...@gm...> wrote: > sample Arabic display. Does this mean that the problem appears in 6402 or in 6428? I checked the MD5 sum of the last build, so "corrupt upload" has been ruled out. Bogdan |

I cant reproduce this issue either by selecting arabic in the language list. By the way, dejavusans has been updated with a new release, maybe it would be interesting to update it in svn. |

If you are not sure which is running, check the log file (there is a link under the Windows Start menu). If you are using OpenGL2, could you please try forcing OpenGL1 and check what happens? (again, there is a link in the Windows Start menu) Thanks, Peter |

Peter, Under rc 6440 normal mode Arabic is fine. Under rc 6440 safe mode Arabic is not displayed correctly, but I noticed 3 instances where arabic characters will be displayed correctly under this mode: 1. when the arabic character is a stand alone with space before and after it. 2. I tested with a text in the sky cultures discription files and put the arabic text between html and and then the whole arabic text enclosed is displayed correctly. 3. The cardinal points south, north are also displayed correctly as full words. Khalid |

If this is so, on my computer everything is OK (auto-detected OpenGL1 mode). Khalid, does it happen again after you restart Stellarium? Also, please try re-downloading and re-installing Stellarium. It may be a corrupted download or corrupted installation. (Or a corrupted upload. I will have to make a MD5 comparison of my installer and the uploaded one.) If you are sure it's Stellarium and not the installation, please attach or copy the text of the log file. (You may want to edit it first to remove you user name from directory paths.)
