    what does 0.13.2 have that 0.12.5 doesn't?

and is 0.12.5 for people that can run 0.13.x in MESA mode only?

Yes. This is very nice indeed. A longstanding problem I had on one of my systems seems mysteriously fixed! It references bug #730110
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/stellarium/+bug/730110

It was related to loading Star Catalog 8. My old log from 0.12.4 would read..
    .
    .
    .
    .
    "Loading "C:\Program Files\Stellarium\data2\stars\default\stars_6_2v0_0.cat": 6_2v0_0; 26615233"
    "Loading "C:\Program Files\Stellarium\data2\stars\default\stars_7_2v0_0.cat": 7_2v0_0; 57826266"
ERROR: SpecialZoneArray( 8 )::SpecialZoneArray: QFile( "C:/Program Files/Stellarium/data2/stars/default/stars_8_2v0_0.cat" .map( 5242912 , 701538504 ) failed: "Not enough storage is available to process this command."
    "Loading "C:\Program Files\Stellarium\data2\stars\default\stars_8_2v0_0.cat": 8_2v0_0; - initialization failed"
Finished loading star catalogue data, max_geodesic_level: 7
    navigation/preset_sky_time is a double - treating as jday: 2.45151e+06
    .
    .
    .
    .
And it would never get to max_geodesic_level: 8

But with the new 0.12.5 it does!! Check out the log!! Ohh wow!!

How cool is that? Previously I had to boot into safe mode and not load my graphics card driver for some odd reason. But now everything appears to be working. I can, indeed, actually see magnitude 17.70 stars now!

So a big thanks to fixing this. However I don't recall this being specifically addressed. How was it fixed? Was it by chance? Or was it an "Artifact" of compiling things differently? Or using a different graphics library?

I re-verified and ran 0.12.4, and it only loaded to geodesic level 7.
And 0.12.5 loaded to geodesic level 8.

Yes, very nice. I now have all eight star catalogs on my little portable ASUS netbook WinXP, and it runs at acceptable speed of 6 to 10 FPS.
