You state that it "might" be the wrong forum (it is), but you "don't care"
(a bit rude, maybe?). So this might just be an issue to take up with
sourceforge, instead of wasting everyone's time here.

Have you tried using a different browser? Tried clearing cookies and
    logging in again?

I didn´t mean to offend someone initially, but someone prematurely calling
      me "idiot"
because i got pretty annoyed after several spam like waves of messages,
      which i don´t
even remeber to have subscripted to, and the SoundForge help is, sorry,
      quite crappy,
so that was too much for me. I suppose, unsubscribing is not such an
      delicate act of
coding, that it has to be a problem to work on almost any browser. And
      yes, off course
i have tried it already in IE, with the same result.

Actually, i just like the Stellarium program and had a few questions once.
      It might also
be correct, that the problem is on SourceForges side, yes. Still i do not
      want to be called
an "idiot", when i state that it´s not possible to unsubscribe.

By the way, i tried to contact SourceForge, but their contact formular is
      a joke, too.
If i try to contact them (that´s what their link says), i get some stupid
      "report stuff
about this site" link. Also, i can´t find any hint on on my profile site
      about how to
erase my account. Anyway, i think this is a real annoyance, and if some of
      the sites
makers should have read my complaints, i would advise them to contact
      SourceForge
themselves, because it is ridiculous. Of course i´ve been unsubscribing
      from many sites
by clicking a simple link, but this just didn´t work.

      Thanks.

      • Abrik: If you tried everything and you or the site failed, then I suggest
that you create a filter that redirects the messages of this forum or any
        SF for your trash.

I once asked a question about stellarium too and subscribed to only that thread. I now get a copy of every discussion thread, just like the other gentleman.

I dont wish to receive email of every discussion either, especially when people are having a slanging match with swearing etc. My children dont want to read that sort of thing.

So it seems sourceforge have changed their policy so I receive all this stuff. Because I have a legacy account, I cannot , either, unsubscribe. And like you say, they are too diffuse to contact.

Dont jump down the guys throat just because he's having trouble with your host company - look at the damage it does to the reputation of your fine program and look for somewhere more responsible for it to live with...

Now I'll try and untangle how to cut off this thread.......I'll helpfully and politely let you all know if I find a way.

    Kevin.

OK wasnt too painful to work out how to unsubscribe successfully with an old account. First you must re-enable your account. For me I needed to get a password reminder sent. If you click the unsub link before this, it doesnt work (you arent subscribed to anything), but after resetting it correctly showed me subscribed to stellarium - untick, save -done.

See - easy! no need to swear or slander.

    Have a great day,

    Kevin.
