I am running 0.11.1 on a HP desktop with WIN 7 64bit with SP1. After opening
Stellarium, I resize the window. I then click save settings in the
configuration pane. When I relaunch Stellarium, the previously saved window is
in a different position. In fact, after relaunching several times, the window
position is random. Is this a Stellarium issue, a WIN 7 issue or am I doing
    something wrong?

The "Save settings" is supposed to save only the size, not the position of the
window. As far as I know, there's no convenient way to save the window
    position on Windows.

    To clarify my sentence:

As far as I know, there's no convenient way to save the window position on
    Windows.

...from the viewpoint of the software/programmer, not the users.

Some checking of the Qt documentation shows that I may be wrong, but there are
also reports by people who complain that the things they tried didn't work. :)

So I am confused - "As far as I know, there's no convenient way to save the
    window position on Windows"

Every app I run on WIN 7 saves the Window position. So is there an inherent
issue with Stellarium which precludes preservinig the window position?

    Thanks.

I'm not shure that is a problem in stellarium, I would guess it is a problem
with Windows, you can google "Win7 save programwindow position" and find a lot
    about it.
You could try http://sourceforge.net/projects/winsize2 and see if it helps.

    Best regards.
