I don't think it addresses how to do this with the root, which can be tricky since it needs to be done from the initrd. It's also possible that you could NFS mount your root. This would also require hacking around in the initrd, and unless your root is read-only, there will be no coherency guarantees between nodes (i.e., a process could see an older version of its open file after migrating). Migration might not be too bad with and NFS root-fs. We make sure that dirty data is written when we leave one node, and we immediately invalidate the NFS client cache upon arrival at the new node. Of course, NFS has limited coherency guarantees which openSSI doesn't address, but as far as migration is concerned it looks OK to me. David Brian J.
