Initial Comment:
If I boot all the nodes in my cluster at the same
moment then all nodes apart from the initnode seem to
hang starting X.

If I boot the nodes one at a time it seems ok.

(I have 4 nodes at the moment).

A similar hang sometimes happens starting syslogd on
secondary nodes.  Some kind of race in the unix-domain
sockets code?

(This one times out eventualy, leaving no syslogd on the
2ndary node).
