Hi, I have been using SSI since past few days. I have 2 questions and a problem w.r.t Xserver. 1. As we can migrate processes through SSI( or if Mosix load levelling is selected, processes will be automatically migrated) will the process' resources move along with it? i.e If I move two communicating processes on to a different machine, will they communicate remotely or will all the communication pass through their home node(node where they started initially)? 2. Are there any cluster monitoring tools available for SSI ? e.g to check the cpu load/memory usage on each machine? Problem - I am having some problem with my Xserver only when I boot to the kernel 2.4.16 with SSI. When I try to start X through 'startx', the X hangs after while getting intialized. When I kill it through Ctrl+Alt+Backspace, I see these error messages esd: Esound sound daemon already running or stale Unix socket /tmp/.esd/soclet This socket already exists indicating esd is already running Exiting.. I even deleted /tmp/.esd and tried to start X. But I am having the same problem. Any idea? Thanks, Sadanand |
